Stanley Lee Stacey, age 67, passed away on November 16, 2023, with a pack of non-filter cigarettes in his pocket and a cup of sweet tea in hand.
Stan was a lifelong long-haul trucker and the doting dog daddy of Mac and Shithead. He was the beloved father to Adam, Stanley Warren, and Jerry, a devoted husband to Darlene Stacey for 35 years, a cantankerously loving and steadfast son to his sweet momma, a deeply loyal brother to Paul (Caroline), Larry (Beverly), Ruth Ann (Steve), and Betty Joe (Andy). Stan is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Stan was preceded in death by his father (Norman Stacey), his oldest brother (Normie Stacey), his youngest brother (Jesse Stacey), his father-in-law (Harold DePugh), his mother-in-law (Redith DePugh), his brother-in-laws (Marvin, Dennis, and Ronnie DePugh), and his beloved dogs Mac & Shithead. Stan was a man who never passed up a plate of spaghetti or turned down a cup of sweet tea or an Icee from Speedway. He spent the majority of his truck driving career driving for his good friend Carl Williams. At the wishes of Stan who said, “Burn me and stick me in the ground when I die,”
Stan will be cremated and the family will be holding a small, private ceremony with a sweet tea toast celebrating his life and lighting up one last non-filter cigarette in his honor.
