Lester Thompson

Lester Thompson 75 of Flatwoods, Kentucky was  called home to our Heavenly Father Wednesday September 20, 2023 leaving from the Glasgow Nursing and Rehab Center in Glasgow, West Virginia. 
He was born August 8, 1948 in Stone, Kentucky, a son of the late Chloe Dalton Thompson and the late John L. Thompson. 
He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and a former Coal Miner. 
He loved watching Westerns and listening to country music. Most of all, he loved his family. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Helen S. Dellinger, Elizabeth “Cathy” Smith, Louise Keeton and 6 brothers James Richie, John L., Jr., Gary, Edwin "Eddie"; Larry “Linc” .
He is survived by a daughter Chloe Thompson Cline of Kenova, WV., a son; Gary Thompson of Huntington, WV. a sister; Kay Salyers and her husband Danny of Paradise, CA. 2 brothers; Lynn Thompson of Huntington, WV., David Thompson of Man, WV. 4 grandchildren; Damian Thompson, Destiny Simpkins both of Accoville, WV, Brenton Cline, Tessa Cline and fiancé Misael “Matt” DeLeon of Dahlonega, Ga, and a host of family and friends. 

Funeral Services will be conducted at Noon on Tuesday September 26, 2023, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 1911 State Route 75, Kenova, WV. with Pastor James officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery with Kenova American Legion and the United States Army Burial Detail presenting final Honors to Mr. Thompson. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.
