Jimmy McCallister

Jimmy McCallister II, 48, of Ironton, Ohio gained his wings to Heaven on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 leaving from the SOMC Hospice Care Center in Portsmouth Ohio after a courageous battle with cancer.

The Ironton native was born October 9, 1971, a son of Sandra Phillips McCallister of Ironton and the late Jimmy Ray McCallister. Jimmy was a high school graduate and loved to hunt, fish, listen to country music, and cheer for his Ohio State Buckeyes.

In addition to his Dad, he is preceded in death by his grandparents; Sarah and Joseph Phillips; Chole and Fred DeLong; a sister; Kim Richendollar ;and two brothers-in-law, Donnie Ackison and Cecil Ackison.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his fiancé of 17 years, Mary Ackison Rowe; two daughters, Dawn Utsinger and her husband Joel, Deanna Rowe;a sister; Lisa McCallister; two brothers, Shane McCallister, Derrick Richendollar; his aunt, Sylvia Bawdle; his uncle, Billy Joe Phillips; a niece, Kayla Ferguson; great nephews, Aiden Wiseman, Levi Richendollar, Christopher Richendollar, Skylar and Braylan Callicoat; a brother-in-law, Roger Ackison ; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 Saturday October 12, 2019 at the First Christian Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday at the church.

His family has entrusted his care to the Taylor-Brown family of the Brown Funeral Chapel.
