Phillip Martin 56 of Ironton Ohio passed away on Friday July 9, 2021 at U of L Jewish Hospital with his family by his side."
The Lawrence County native was born December 27, 1964, a son of Claudia Mae Avery Fraley of Ironton and the late Fredrick Lee Martin. Phillip was a Carpenter who loved to work. He enjoyed playing Poker, Singing, playing the Guitar but most of all, he loved his family and his mother with all his heart.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Mary Alice Ruggles and Milton Herman Avery Sr. and two uncles; Milton Herman “Sonny” Avery Jr. and Gary Birchfield.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by 5 sisters; Cheryl Ann Ruggles Tinsley, Claudia Michelle Gibson and her husband William, Mary Beth Blum, Michelle Martin, Melissa Martin, 2 brothers; Michael Edward Martin, John Wesley Martin, 2 uncles; James Robert “Rob” Whitt, Ernest Taylor Avery and his wife Kathleen, 3 aunts; Phyllis Birchfield, Celia Haynes Ruth Blanton, Special friends; Corbie, Dwayne, Tuck and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July 14, 2021 at 3:00 pm at the Judah Apostolic Church located at 318 Township Rd. 1013; South Point, Ohio 45680 where Pastor Kenny Waller will welcome family and friends and Bro. Ernie Avery will be officiating the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Hanging Rock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations need to be made to the funeral chapel to help with final expenses.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the Church.
His family has entrusted his care to the Taylor-Brown Family of Brown Funeral Chapel.
