Mark Timothy Anderson: 61, of Ashland, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Born in St Albans but called Elkins, West Virginia his home before joining the Air Force at 18. He was born January 5, 1959, a son of Sidney Earl and Lois Evelyn (Hankins) Anderson of Hico, West Virginia. Mark was a retired Air Force Technical Sergeant with over 26 years of service. After the military he worked for the City of Ashland Wastewater Management Treatment Facility for 12 years. Mark was in his own words, "a self-actualized man". He loved life and loved his family. He was a voracious reader, taught medieval dance, was an avid history buff who reveled in medieval re-creation. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Aleceia Gamble Anderson, 2 sons; Ian Stewart Anderson, 27 of Vietnam, Luke Timothy Anderson, 34, and daughter, Nichole Annette Anderson, 34 of Albuquerque, New Mexico. His 2 brothers; Steven Thomas Anderson (Sharon) of Oak Hill, WV and Phillip Daniel Anderson (Lisa) of Hope Mills, NC; 2 uncles; Dr. L. Milton Hankins of Ashland, KY, Jim Hankins of Panama City, FL. A nephew; Jeremiah Anderson of Oak Hill, WV. A niece; Elizabeth (Anderson) Falk of Goldboro, NC; A host of family and friends whom he loved. In keeping with Mark's’ wishes he will be cremated and services may be held at a later date. His wife has entrusted services to the Taylor Brown Family of the Brown Funeral Chapel.
