Leland Timothy Spears

Leland Timothy Spears: 63 of Kitts Hill, Ohio, passed away Wednesday September 1, 2021 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

The Lawrence County native was born March 13,1958 in Ironton, Ohio a son of the late Leland Spears and Corrine Gillum. He was a graduate of Seneca High School. He was a former Copier Technician for Ashland Office Supply with over 30 years of service and he was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed Kayaking and listening to Bluegrass music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2016 Cathy Sue Pemberton. He is survived by three children; two daughters; Jessie Stapleton and her husband Jason, Michelle Spears, a son; Shawn Southers and his wife; Fonda, a sister; Karen Featheringill and her husband Jim, two brothers; Dwayne Gillum, Jimmy Joe and his wife Young Gillum, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of family and friends.

Keeping with his wishes he will be cremated, and his ashes spread with his wife’s ashes under the Family tree which is affectionately known as “The Beer Tree”.

His children have entrusted his care to the Taylor Brown family of Brown Funeral Chapel.
