Karl Lewis Boright

Karl Lewis Boright, 42, of South Point, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his home.  Karl was born July 6, 1980, a son of John and Lucinda (Cindy) Lewis Boright.  A graduate of Ironton High School and he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Ohio University.  He was a chemistry instructor at Ohio University’s Southern Campus.  Karl was quite active in the Southern Campus Nature Center.  He adored and showed his Puli dogs, loved computers and created web pages for local businesses, and he enjoyed shooting hand guns.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Matthew Boright in 2015 and an uncle, Paul Boright. His paternal grandparents were George (Mel) Boright and Lois Cassidy Boright; maternal grandparents were James (Lewy) Lewis and Elizabeth McKee Lewis.  Survivors include four aunts, Susan Lewis, Lois Boright Terkhorn, Becky Boright McClennen, Lora Boright DeMuro and an uncle, Mark Boright.  Karl had several cousins, including Shawn, Todd, and Seth Terkhorn.

Keeping with his wishes he was cremated.  In lieu of flowers, requests are that donations are made to the Lawrence County Animal Shelter or to your local animal shelter.  Provisions are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Chapel.
