Thomas Shope

Thomas Shope 77 of Ironton gained his wings to heaven Wednesday December 19, 2018.

The Lawrence County native was born April 3, 1941 a son of the late Rev. Ogle Shope and the late Gwendolyn Stapleton Shope. Tom was a Mechanic by trade and was a good friend and neighbor to all.

He was preceded in death by a brother; Ogle Lynn Shope, 4 Sisters; Judy Wilson, Bonnie Jenkins, Betty Jenkins, Janet Hall and a Baby.

He is survived by his wife Emma Jean Shope, 7 sons; Thomas A. Shope, Chris Gibson, Thomas Shope, Mathew Thomas Shope, Kevin Shope, Mark Shope,  Wesley Shope, a daughter; Lisa Howard, 3 brothers; Ogle Lee Shope,  Mack Shope, Bill Shope, a sister; Barbara Robinson, and a host of family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Tuesday January 8, 2019 in the Pine Grove Cemetery with Bro. Mack Shope officiating

Friends may call from Noon until 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the Brown Funeral Chapel and Ironton First Christian Baptist Church located at 2427 South 11th Street; Ironton, Ohio 45638. The family ask memorial donations be made to the funeral chapel to help with funeral expenses.
