Melissa James

Melissa Sue James; 48, of Ironton, Ohio passed away at her home on Thursday July 25, 2019.

The Ironton native was born July 6, 1971, a daughter of the late Jimmy and Jane Brock Brooks.  Melissa attended Ironton Schools and an active member in our community. She enjoyed riding the four-wheeler and taking her granddaughter to the park.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Sister in law; Shelly Brooks.

She is survived by a son; Sean James (Christina Elswick), a loving granddaughter; Halie James of Ironton, a brother; Johnny (Beverly) Brooks of Pedro, Ohio, her former husband; William James Jr and Makayla James who Missy loved like a daughter and a host of family and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at Noon on Thursday August 1, 2019 at the City Mission Church with Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Honoring Melissa’s wishes, she will be cremated after the services. Family and friends will serve as honored casket bearers.

Friends may call from 10:00 am until time of services on Thursday at the church.

Her Funeral Ceremony has been entrusted to the Taylor-Brown Family of the Brown Funeral Chapel.
